A Day in the Life of a Patient Navigator
As a Patient Navigator, you'll be the go-to person for patients seeking support throughout their cancer treatment journey. From onboarding new patients to helping them enroll in clinical trials, you'll be instrumental in delivering exceptional service and advocating for their needs. This role directly contributes to the company's mission of providing top-tier care and personalized support to individuals facing blood cancers, making a meaningful difference in their lives every day.
Responsibilities include:
- Interacting with patients via phone, email, and chat to provide ongoing support
- Building trust and rapport with patients from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
- Leading patients through the onboarding process and educating them about available resources
- Supporting Black Myeloma Health virtual events and initiatives
- Tracking and reporting key patient interaction metrics
- Assisting patients with enrollment in clinical trials and research studies
- Importing and organizing medical data within the platform
- Troubleshooting patient concerns and providing timely solutions
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical and legal guidelines
- Staying updated on the latest in blood cancer research to enhance patient care
- Collaborating with various teams to ensure smooth patient experiences and workflow
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of customer-facing experience (required)
- A passion for working with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to adapt to new processes and systems quickly
- Patient-first mindset with a focus on providing exceptional care
- CNA or other relevant certifications (preferred)
- Personal or professional experience with cancer (preferred)
